Beam Spot Display on TV Monitor
Accelerator operators need to be able to interpret and respond to a great deal of information to keep the entire accelerator system running. |
| At various points along the accelerator are screens, small plates that operators can move into the beam path. The screen glows when struck by the beam and is viewed by a video camera that sends the signal to the control room. This spot is the actual record of the beam at a point along the accelerator. | ![]() Beam spot monitor showing beam going to beam dump. |
