What have we learned and what is there still to learn about Einstein, in his own words and those of others? The Einstein Papers
Project has published, in a detailed, comprehensive form Einstein's scientific manuscripts, his notebooks, lectures, popular articles,
as well as his private and professional correspondence through 1921, when Einstein was 42 years old. Since the fall of 1919,
Einstein emerged as a celebrity scientists, his image instantly recognizable worldwide. After World War I, his involvement in
political, humanitarian, and educational issues and the clamor he generated reshape his public persona. The talk will offer
reflections on what has been accomplished so far in documenting Einstein's life and work, what is still to be done, and what his
legacy means today
