Heterogeneous Catalysis for Energy Efficiency

Date: 9/19/2011

Cynthia Friend

Heterogeneous catalysis is a key technology for chemical synthesis and for production of fuels. Fundamental studies of reactive processes provide a framework for increasing energy efficiency in large-‐scale processes. An overview of challenges in catalysis and examples of how fundamental studies provide guiding principles for developing more efficient, "green" processes will be given.
