With desktop set to the Windows XP Style

  • From the Start menu click Control Panel.
  • In the Control Panel click on Network and Internet Connections.
  • Click Network Connections.
  • Click the connection you want to configure, in this case Local Area Connection.
  • Click Change settings of this connection.
 
  • Select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP).
  • Select the  Properties button.
  • Select the buttons Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DSN server address automatically
  • Click the OK button on the next two windows to bring you back to the Network Connections window.
  • Quit out of the Network Connections window.
