Audio conferencing
can be set up from any telephone, with any other telephone, anywhere.
All audio
conferences must be scheduled twenty-four (24) hours in advance with Art Bray, SLAC's audio conference coordinator, at
(650) 926-8500.
Once you've
scheduled a conference, you'll receive confirmation information via electronic mail.
You'll be given a number to call to participate in the conference, a list of conference
participants, plus a confirmation of the date and time.
There are two factors involved in
scheduling your videoconference once you've decided when you would like to have it: (1)
whether a conference room is available at that time, and (2) whether the Energy Sciences
Network or point-to-point uplink for video and audio transmission is available at that
time.
SLAC usually connects to sites on
the Energy Sciences Network (ESnet), which maintains a
bridge that is used to connect multi-site conferences. All sites are tested prior to being listed. In
addition, SLAC has connectivity to most non-ESnet sites via AT&T. However, some
charges may apply for calls placed outside of ESnet. Speak to the videoconference
coordinator at (650) 926-8500 for details.

SLAC-2, and SLAC-3 for the time you wish to schedule your conference. You will need to
contact Art Bray to confirm this time before it is definite; there may be several other
people on a list waiting for this time-slot already.
