OpenAFS for Windows
SLAC requires everyone who wants to use OpenAFS for Windows to also install
MIT Kerberos for Windows (KFW). This will ensure
you are using Kerberos v5 instead of v4. We currently have a schedule to turn
off Kerberos 4 at SLAC on April 1, 2008.
Download and Install
The newest release can be found here:
http://www.openafs.org/windows.html. You want to find and download the
latest version of OpenAFS for Windows software. As of early January 2008 the
link was about 3/4 of the way down the page. Navigate through there until you
find the correct installer file for your Windows. You can also find it on
https://xweb.slac.stanford.edu.
Software Configuration
The only thing you should need to do is disable integrated login because it
uses Kerberos V4. Disable it by double-clicking the OpenAFS Client found in the
lower right and click the Advanced tab. Then press the Configure AFS Client
button and clear the box in front of "Obtain AFS tokens when logging into
Windows".
Next Step
Download and install MIT Kerberos for Windows (KFW).
