SLAC Home NT Home Software

This applies to existing SLAC Windows NT 4 workstations that have not yet migrated to Windows XP.

Standard software is recommended for use at SLAC.  SLAC has a standard network install using the Boot Floppy.  SCS or your local administrator will install and configure Windows NT 4 client computers that conform to the recommended hardware. Computers will be configured with a standard hard disk setup consisting of a single partition, formatted NTFS, with the Windows NT 4 operating system and the free and site-licensed software listed below.  Note that SCS's support is only for installation of this software; information on their use should be obtained elsewhere.

What are the standard software packages?

To install any of the free and site-licensed products listed below, click on the name and follow directions given on the page to which it links.  For more details on the software, see the Supported Software or FAQ pages.
