New ICA Client v6.30.1050 instructions for Win2k and XP below
The Citrix ICA Win32 Client (Version 6.00.910) can be found and installed from the following location:
from the SLAC network drive X:\Applications\Supported\Citrix for NT users at SLAC
from the Citrix Website
for off-site users.
Select 'Windows'->'ICA 32-bit client'->'Full PN Version -English
(executable)'
Run the Setup program from disk1 folder (X:\Applications\Supported\Citrix\v6.00.910\disk1) or simply run the setup.exe from the compressed file you downloaded from Citrix. Accept the default destination folder for the installation. When asked if you'd like to enable and automatically use your local user name and password for Citrix sessions, select No.
Double click the Citrix Program Neighborhood icon placed on the desktop by the install program.
Click the Up button in the toolbar until you see the Find New Application Set icon.
Double click Find New Application Set to start the wizard.
In the dialog box select Local Area Network if you are connecting to the farm from ON-SITE, select Wide Area Network if OFF-SITE, click NEXT
Click on the Server Location button. A new dialog box appears
TCP/IP is the Network Protocol
Server Group is Primary .
Click ADD, then enter "wtsfarm.slac.stanford.edu" (without the quotes), Click OK
It is critical your screen looks exactly like this example or your system will fail to connect to the farmClick OK to close the dialog box and it will take you back to the Find New Application Set dialog. Leave blank the box "Enter a description for the new Application Set" (it will be filled up automatically). In the next field "Click below to locate the Application Set to add", just click the down arrow at the right of the box to bring up SLAC Farm and select it.
Click the Next button to configure the color depth. Uncheck "Use Server Default". At a minimum, select 256 colors or you may choose High Color (16 bit). Please note that the latter must be supported by the Citrix server. The next box is to configure your desired resolution (Window Size). We discourage the use of "Seamless Window" as this overlaps with your local desktop. "Percent of Screen Size" is a good choice. Click Next and the Finish button to complete the configuration.
The SLAC Farm icon is now created in the Citrix Program Neighborhood. Double click to open. Enter your NT username & password; Domain is SLAC. Do not save your password.
A list of published Applications is displayed. Simply choose the one you would like to run by double clicking on it. You may choose "User Desktop Full Screen" if you're to run a Windows NT full desktop session.
