Cyber Security Awareness Month ended yesterday, but that doesn't mean that the need to stay vigilant ended with it. Throughout the month of October, the SLAC Computer Security team shared 31 ways to increase your safety online. These articles offer simple ways to communicate safely and securely on the internet, such as only using software purchased from reputable vendors, keeping that software up to date and removing it when it's no longer in use. Following these easy steps can go along way to ensuring your computer is not compromised.

Cyber security is more and more important with each passing year; the prevalence of communication devices now in use brings with it a high level of risk. As a result, communicating safely is no longer a passive activity. Please be conscious of these risks and take active steps to ensure you do not become a victim online, especially as we head into the holiday season. We'll be getting those virus-laden e-cards soon!
