Permissions Required for Central Administration
Policy
SLAC Computer Security requires permissions on files and directories for all centrally maintained systems to be set so that our core IT processes and procedures can function as needed.
Settings
The system administrator level permissions should remain as configured by SLAC's central IT group.
For Windows files and directories this generally means the SYSTEM and Domain Admins groups must have full access.
For Unix, this normally means the system:administrators group should have rlidwka permissions.
Exceptions
Any exceptions to the Minimum Permissions above must be approved by SLAC Cyber Security Officer (or delegated Computer Security Team member) and the owner of the Security Enclave in which the file/directory resides.
Please send an email to security@slac.stanford.edu if you believe you require an exception.
