Cyber Security Basics Course Employee Deadline July 2, 2009

by Marilyn Cariola

Will your SLAC computer account be DISABLED?

The deadline for completing the Cyber Security Basics course is only a few of days away (July 2, 2009). All SLAC employees with computer accounts must meet this requirement to satisfy a component of our Performance Evaluation and Monitoring Plan (PEMP) metric for the DOE. All other SLAC users have until the end of October.

To access the course:

1.       You need to know your SLAC System ID number which can be found with your information on the SLAC Directory.

2.       You will also need to know your SkillSoft password. If you changed it and don't remember what it is, you can contact

esh-training@slac.stanford.edu to have your password reset during normal business hours.

3.      On a windows computer go to the ESH Training Web FAQ  then to the Training portal.

4.       If you are a Unix user, go to the “Alternate Location for Unix Users Only”.

5.       You must correctly answer at least 4 of 5 questions to get credit for completing the course.

6.       You can challenge the course on the first slide (click on QUIZ).

After July 2, 2009, you, your supervisor and HR or sponsor will be officially notified that your account will be disabled because you didn’t complete the required training and will need to comply before your account will be re-enabled.

If you have any questions, please contact Marilyn Cariola (x2820) or Computer Security Training at sec-trng@slac.stanford.edu.
