Policy Generation and Dissemination Process

Individuals developing lab-wide policy will, when feasible, follow a collaborative process that includes:

  1. consultation with primary stakeholders impacted by the policy, and
  2. obtaining guidance and approval from the Policy Steering Committee (PSC) and, through the PSC, approval from the Directorate.

All new lab-wide policy and changes to existing lab-wide policies are reviewed and approved by the Policy Steering Committee. The Responsible Official is responsible for assuring successful policy dissemination, and for insuring the policy is reviewed at least annually for currency and relevance. Laboratory management is responsible for implementing lab-wide policy.

Please contact the Policy Coordinator, Frank Topper, topper@slac.stanford.edu, x3024 for assistance generating policy, dissemination plan, and for an appointment with the Policy Steering Committee. A Microsoft Word template to facilitate the policy generation process is available for downloading.
