Program Goals:
To provide the participant with a rewarding research experience which will
also benefit the laboratory research program for which he or she works.
The hope is that the student will be encouraged to continue to study and
pursue a career in the physical sciences.
The DOE expects all SULI participants to submit "deliverables" through the
EducationLink webpage.
These "deliverables" are outlined in the
DOE Office of Science GuideBook.
One deliverable is an abstract. Updated guidlines for the abstract can be found

to review what is expected of each participant and other program information.
- 6/30: pre-survey on /http://educationlink.labworks.org/ (login then click Surveys on left)
- 7/6 One-Page Project Summary (Abstract) Due, 5pm
- 7/10-7/13 Meet with Program Director (Schedules)
- 7/18 Draft of Introduction Due (for SLAC use only)
- 7/30 Revised Introduction and Draft of Materials and Methods Due (for SLAC use only)
- 8/8 Full Paper Draft Due, 8 AM
- 8/10 COMPLETE PEER REVIEW. click for details
- 8/9-8/10 Meet with Director to Discuss Revision (Schedule)
- 8/15-16 Afternoons: 12 min. oral presentations of work. (Schedule) Redwood Room in ROB
- 8/17 SULI CEREMONIAL BBQ LUNCH (Provided by SLAC) 12-2 PM at Sector 6 Picnic Area (South side of Linac, Up steep short road going SW from near sector 6)
- 8/17 Final Report Due for students with 8/18 Departure
- 8/24 Final Report Due for students with 8/25 Departure
