The noontime festivities included sumptuous Indian food, music, dancing
and a raffle. Diwali falls on the new moon day between October and
November and is also known as the ‘Festival of Lights.’ Ganapathi gave the
welcome speech, and noted the celebration "brings the SLAC Community an
understanding and appreciation of different cultures through food and
music, which has no bounds."
Participants from around the site enjoyed the festival as they learned
more about the Indian culture.
