The Library has Standards
By Lesley Wolf
And shouldn’t we all! Your standards may be high
or low, but the Library’s standards are of the ASME, ASTM, and BVPC
variety. Our recent acquisitions, in PDF format, are: ASME (American
Society Mechanical Engineers) and BVPC (Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code)
standards on-line through IHS, Inc. Our newest offering, Cyberegs,
is an easily accessible database for state and federal regulations
complete with live document links to relevant CFR’s (Code of Federal
Regulations).
To find the ASME and BVPC Standards from the
SLAC home page, go to the
Library home page, and click
‘eResources’ on the menu bar. Then choose ‘ll SLAC Databases’ from the
menu. For your convenience, the subscription to ASME and BVPC Standards
is IP authenticated, so you do not have to log in personally, unless you
would like to set up lists. The IHS subscription to ASME and BVPC
standards is a single user database, so only one client can be logged on
at a time. For full instructions, see:

SLAC Library also holds the paper version of current ASTM standards on the
reference shelf. To check out our complete list of codes, standards and
other helpful on-line resources, see:
