| The prediction, based on Figure 2, is that all reactions would be photoelectric effect, where the photons energy is totally absorbed by the atom and an inner-shell electron is ejected. Later, an outer shell electron makes a transition to fill the gap in the inner shell and in the process emits a photon (X-ray). | |

The prediction, based on Figure 3, is for 80% photoelectric and 20% Compton scattering and the lead certainly seems to stop tracks within the "matter." |
