Enabling
SIP Instant Messaging
- From Lync Front End servers (i.e. Lync01, Lync02)
- Sign on to one of the Lync Front End servers
- launch Lync Powershell
- user this command to enable new user: Enable-CsUser -Identity
username -RegistrarPool:lyncpool1.slac.stanford.edu
-SipAddressType:emailaddress
- Above Lync PS will enable user account and set sign on
name to match user' emailaddress
- To validate newly created account: Get-CsUser
-Identity username | fl
- From IE
- browse to https://lyncpool1.slac.stanford.edu/cscp
- enter your user name and password and click OK
- Home -> Top Actions -> Enable users for Lync Server
- Click on Add -> type in the username (sam account or
last name) -> Click Find -> Highlight on the username ->
click OK
- Assign users to a pool: click on drop down box and pick
lyncpool1.slac.stanford.edu
- Generate user's SIP URI:
- Leave the rest of the selection as default
- Click on Enable
- Notify the user that it is done and tell them what their sign-in
name is (should be email address)
