You will need the following to work effectively in SLAC's Windows environment :

1. Know who your local local Windows administrator is.
2. Get an SLAC ID and apply for computer accounts
3. Purchasing a new computer or peripherals
   Your local Windows administrator will help you purchase hardware as you need through established procedures.
4. Get an static IP address for new desktop workstations.  For new laptop workstations your local Windows administrator will fill out a dynamic IP address (DHCP) request.
5. Getting Remote Access setup.
